It’s just a dual input ASD10 drive unit. It’s a 16" drop box drive unit. You cannot see anything different in the drive from the outside; it just has two input shafts. The front engine is connected to the lower shaft and the rear engine is connected to the upper shaft.
Dirty Laundry, Outerlimits Four of a Kind, Jaguar's Dan Campbell, Al Copeland’s Cougar, and others all have had this drive combination.

what happens if the motor s are off 500 rpms how does that affect the box

That's just it. The motors will not be 500 rpm off as they are connected to each other via the drive unit.
Not that complicated, once the engine are running under load there are no problems with the engines.
When idling, its best to only use one of the engines on each side to save the transmissions.
Once the boat is going, you pop the second engine into gear.
