My buddies got a 05 ford 6.0 4x4 crew cab std srw with 24,000 miles,he has been having a ongoing problem with truck just shutting off between 30-40 mph once its warmed up and he is coasting/decelerating. Its been to the dealer ALOT and they can't figure out why but they have duplicated the problem. Anyone seen or heard of anything similar,he has had some near misses with thing cutting out(motor stalls completely,of course you lose power steering/brakes etc). I told him LEMON LAW or new dealer if its not resolved soon,Smitty

You're right on the lemon law thing. I just read somewhere that it's a lemon if the same problem occurs more than x number of times in a certain amount of time or mileage. You'd think it'd be lemon especially if the dealer has replicated the problem.

it killed power at a certain rpm, and speed.. it did not get so bad where it stalled the truck. i brought it in that day and we were able to repeat the action.. i have heard where a bad egr valve will stall the truck..

I just sold the truck but I received a recall notice for this problem. The top diesel tech told me the new valve solved the problems.

Except they won't do upgrades for lifted trucks that tow.
Yeah yeah yeah, No I am not talking crazy lifted 44" tire monster trucks, but a 06' F350 with 4.56 gears and 35 inch tires?
Before you say it, I have towed boats for 16 years with 35" tires. Common sense driving tactics, antisway bars, great brakes, and staying way under the maximum towing load and it can be done.
