Dodge or Chevy/GMC what would you choose?

not sure what the max is but if you want gas i would get the vortec 8.1 with the allison option.
my friend had that on his dually and towed his top gun with no problem. of course the gas mileage was terrible.
gm is much nicer inside with much better creature comforts. i have had dodges and now a duramax with a 6 speed allison and i like the gm the best so far.
gm not around? if they are not around i dont think this country would be around either as they go hand in hand if we want to admit it or not.

Maybe the new '07 will address these issues.....if GM is still around.

I will never ever ever ever own a gasoline powered tow rig. EVER!!!!
The extra $$ for a diesel is sooooooooooo worth it.
I bought a used 04 LLY Duramax & got out of a Ford v-10.
Why I EVER owned a gasoline engine is beyond me?????

i heard that the hemi motor doesn't make its torque until 4500 rpm...
good for a sport motor...not so good for towing...go the chevy/gmc route
diesel or not, you won't be disappointed..

Just did this two weeks ago. 2500 Dodge rides a lot stiffer than comparable 2500 Chevy. I went Duramax / Allison and love it (234 miles). If you're going 2500 at least go 8.1 for the towing capability. diesel and gas costs almost exactly the same so that isn't an issue.

Sorry, but its clear you haven't looked at the competition if you think GM trucks are nicer. Notice I didn't say Dodge, but even Dodge has a better looking exterior, and a way better interior, more comfort features and safety features.
GM is coming out with a all new truck...with a nice new interior..have you seen the new Tahoe interior?? Much improved, as is the exterior style. If you buy a current GM pickup, expect a big hit in value because the new truck will be that much nicer.
Dodge comforts- Power, heated leather perforated seats, dual zone AC, 6 disc in dash CD with Navigation, rear seat DVD, sunroof, power pedals, power trailer tow mirrors, Uconnect (bluetooth), steering mounted audio controls, and trip computer. GM/Chevy, NO Navigation, No Power pedals, No bluetooth, No perforated leather, Manual tow mirrors, steering wheel audio controls jamed up on front of wheel, much harder to use than Dodge's placement behing the wheel.
Dodge safety benefits- side airbags, not available on GM.
In my personal experience I see no quality difference in GM or Dodge powerplants, I've received good service from both.
Personally I feel Ford has the best interior on the 150 series and everyone should look out for the new Toyota.
Until GM's new pickup's get here, in my view they are at the bottom of the shop list.
