I had a Pioneer GPS/ CD/ XM radio player installed in my 2005 GMC and they turned off that sound for me. I do wear my seatbelt....for some reason I usually feel "safer" by wearing it.

The door chime is routed through the factory speakers, not unusual for it to not work when aftermarket stereo installed.
