When I sold my first Excursion I replaced it with a Titan and on the test drive lets just say that I thoroughly tested the traction control. Good balls for a Japanese truck, I however missed the room and more longer range so re-entered the Ford family.

Zudnic, Just curious how did the Nissan do for trade in value? Any issues with the truck?? I do really like the truck but something in the back of my minds keeps telling me I should have stayed with the Ford.

I have had the same problem with the Grands we had. We have the Overland now with the HO 4.7, man that thing will move for an SUV. Outran a HEMI Grand the other day.. :D

I only had it for two weeks on a lease so did not get much of a hit other then paying a penalty to get out of the lease. I liked it just too small for my purposes, mostly LA trips for trade shows.

I love mine! Tows my 29 Fountain without a problem. I get 12mpg towing that boat between 60 and 65. Your mileage will improve after 10,000 miles or so. Your highway mileage really depends on how fast you drive. I have seen 26 mpg at 55mph and 16 to 17 at 70mph. It was a tough decision for me as well between the Titan and F150, but I can damn near stand up in the back with the seats folded up! And I like the rails/bed system they have going. Which model did you get? I decided against better judgement and went for the full blown LE 4x4 model with all the bells and whistles. I've even used the DVD player :evilb: The brake issues should be fixed, but if they chatter, Nissan will deal with it no hassles. That has been the only problem and my rotors were replaced with the newer, larger ones. Good luck with the truck!

Unsane, That makes me feel a lot better. The deals that both manufactures had going were nearly the same. I did end up about $2,000 less overall with the Nissan however the price was not so much a factor in the decision. Being the end of the year there was not much of a selection. I really wanted white as most of us doing pulling a boat simply to match. However they had one of the bright red SE models on the lot and with all the chrome I simply fell in love with. So I ended up with red. It's been tough getting used to as my last few rides have been white or silver. You don't get much louder than the red! When it stops raining tomorrow I'll take a photo and post it. Still have not pulled the boat with it due to the poor weather and the fact I've only owned for 2 weeks.

do the exhaust upgrade and intake kit upgrade. well worth it and will sing for you. My friend towed his old 31 scarab around with his and loves it lots of room for the back seat area.

I'm looking at the coldair intake , any idea if that additional helped his gas milage?

Be careful, I have heard that when running cooking oil or a home made biodiesel blend, The damage is not instant, which is why everything seems good right now, but after a year or so of runnning straight cooking oil, your engine will be destroyed. I will have to find the report but they ruined a few thousand military vehicles running them that way.

Don't forget, you need to put at least 500 miles on it to break in the rear end (Dana) BEFORE you tow anything!!!!

I remember 4wheeler having a failure by not doing this :rolleyes: ....

My front brakes started "pulsating" at about 5000 miles. The dealer upgraded the front brakes with no problems whatsoever :D

According to the Nissan boards, intake or muffler changes do not help gas mileage...only your right foot will :evilb:
