I am finally ready to purchase some mods for my 02 Ex. Please let me know what has WORKED for towing 31ft boat (10k lbs). There are lots of options and the more I research the more I get frustrated. I am happy with my driveline currently, 33's and mild lift, just want to bump the power a bit. Thanks in advance

I have a 2000 PSD Dually. I bought it this year with 58K miles on it. I put the mods on the truck a couple months later. I just turned 70K this week.
I have installed:
Bullydog 6-position chip (rotating switch on dash)
MBRP true 4" from the turbo-back, into an MBRP muffler, which splits out to dual exits, one behind each rear tire(s).
True-Flow foam filter element.
Di-Procol triple gauge pod with Exhaust Temp, Trans Temp, and Boost.
I got all of my information from www.thedieselstop.com
I did A LOT of research before I bought, and I bought everything from OSO member OutlawMark, (he installed most of it too).
I have a VERY noticeable difference in overall truck performance. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE driving the truck. I love the way it tows. It is definitely peppier and I like everything about the truck. I know I have to be careful with the transmission, which I am. I tow 12,500 lbs. of 37' boat/trailer/fuel/gear.

on my 7.3 I had the banks big hoss chip 125hp...then put 4inch straight pipe on it...then it spent 50,000 miles pulling a 40' gooseneck with two mud trucks...now after 120,000 my buddy drives it and it is still going strong. after i sold it he put the air intake on....though i think there are better chips out there now..but for it day my 02 was pretty mean and hauled a good load....oh yeah i added the banks trans command to it also....still on original tranny..plus i added boost gauge and exhaust temp...

ZBO thanks for the detailed info. What year was your truck? I have considered the trans command, in your opinion how did it shift? would you purchase it again? Andy

mine was an 02.....if i was going with the 7.3 i would do everything i did again except i would put the new six gun control on it, that way i could change the power settings.. my chip was a set at 125 all the time. the trans command was a must, and it shifted great. I had two other friends with modded up trucks and they went through tranny after tranny, i told them to get the trans command and now they haven't replaced trannies since (of course they also finally broke down and spent the money with ford to get the new tranny from them) but added the trans command to it and that was three years ago now. I sold my old truck to a good friend of mine and he has about 140,000 umm maybe more ( i had 90,000) on it so far with no problems with it, and now it is on 35's. When i owned it, we put over 50,000 towing a 40 foot gooseneck loaded at the max load maybe more....never had a problem (basically would put the go pedal on the floor and wouldn't lift till i was there only good for 75 with the weight i was carrying). One time the tranny temp gauge moved a little, had the tranny serviced and was fine and no more problem...by the way first service on it was at 65,000.... maybe i just got a good one...but with what i put it through it was a good truck ..still is...and the mods i did gave it plenty of power but seemed to be nice and reliable.
when i bought the new truck i went straight to banks for the new stuff, even though people told me there was more power or better power from other companies....new truck runs great too...
i make sure to put a nice free flowing exhaust and get some guages to monitor temps...

www.TSPERFORMANCE.COM. Speak with the owner, Dennis Perry.
While you're there, check out the video of his Dodge inline 6cyl Cummins truck doing the 1/4 mile in 10.20 something at 132MPH. Impressive.
He does Ford/Navistar, Chevy and Dodge.
He's also now doing John Deere and some of the big farm equipment stuff too.
He is very trustworthy.
