I recently bought a 99 Donzi 26zx & it's on a "Float-on" trailer. The trailer is a very nice trailer, but it doesn't seem to be a correct set-up for the stepped hull of the Donzi. The forward step has been nicked by the bunk when it comes off, & that is floating it off. The way it is, I won't even try to drive it off or on. My question is, has anyone ever modified a straight bunk trailer to work with a stepped hull. Again, this is a very well built trailer, & I really would like to make it work, just looking for some ideas.

Start the bunks at the transom with 1-2 inches extending beyond the transom. If the step is resting on the bunk, notch to fit the hull. You can power on but must float off a step hull, or the ramp has to be deep enough to clear the step.

Thanks for the input. Should the bunks extend past the first step? Right now, it stops right after the rear step, in other words, the forward step is not resting on the bunk, that is the one that hits the bunk.
