I would say anything done to a Cummins that is not stock will make it sound meaner. Especialy if he is throwing the fuel and air to it and running a big 5" exhaust. It does sound nice. I never noticed just how good my 2005 sounded until the guy who bought it from me drove away. It was much quieter in the cab but it sure did sound good going down the road.

Correct...too much fuel. But, most big power diesels pour the black smoke. That guy was running his truck like that just showing off. I would tell the environmentalist the f off b/c my truck runs on cooking oil.
