Default Diesel $ .60 per gallon higher in Detroit

Driving up and down Telegraph road seeing regular for $ 2.19 and diesel for $ 2.79. What a difference in pricing, home heating oil demand is driving this.

Driving an Avalanche 2500 gas hog ain't so bad.

Prices went down here in Knoxville. Regular gas is around 2.19 and last week diesel was over 2.45, today diesel went down to 2.37.

Variances in state taxes have quite a bit to do with fuel prices. I'm in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, sometimes all on the same morning. You can see a pretty broad spread (KY is the lowest). I was in S/W Ohio last week and saw a 45 cent difference within 10 miles. The high station was in town, the other on the interstate. Both Speedway stores.

I was running down a US Highway in VA the other day and every station was $2.59. There was one that was $2.39 on the other side with no turnaround close by. However, I along with several 18 wheelers and a few others made sure to get into that station for the cheaper fuel.

I agree, the Avalanche 2500 was a bit more appetizing on fuel costs when they look like this.

It wont be getting any better anytime soon. Polosi said she will push for gas royalties(taxes)to be paid by the oil companies. Can we afford to tax an industry that already only sees a 7% profit margin? I dont think nancy knows that if you tax more than they have to charge more...or drastically downsize...costing more to maintain current levels.

Tell me about the diesel prices... I just bought 100 gallons 2 days ago and it was $2.55..... I burned almost 40 gallons of it already. I burn up to 140 gallons a week sometimes.
