Ya know you could have PMd me and no one would have had to see that. ;) It could have been between the two of us. I like the way you covered yourself at the end though. You da man. :D Buck |
I have had the anderson rapid hitch for about 2 years and it has worked great, I have the 10" version set all theway at the bottem. My boat and trailer weigh 9600. It has not broken yet

Chris,
It's not about having a piece of shiny aluminum on the back of your truck. It's about having an adjustable ball mount with different balls on it for the convenience of it. And it just so happens that one of the products that offers this convenience is a shiny piece of aluminum. That's all. I have multiple trailers of different sizes for different purposes. Some use a 2 5/16" ball, some use a 2" ball. Some are low to the ground, some sit high. I have ZERO desire to keep as many as four different ball mounts in my truck and or with each trailer to fit the ball and height of each trailer so I can tow it with my truck at a proper height. Why should I own multiple products when one will meet my needs. When you look at it like this, it's not as easy as removing a cross pin. No reason to read anything else into it. Buck |

FYI I have never sold on on OSO nor do I care if I do. My business has a location where I live, not on the web. This entire thread has been nothing but friendly banter IMO. We all know each other and respect each other's opinions without getting offended. Maybe you don't understand how this works? If you can't handle people handing out facts based on everyday experiences and not opinions like yourself then I would say it's time to move on. You are taking it entirely too personal. To get respect on this board you have to earn it. It's posts like yours that won't earn it. Buck |
Ya know, I've followed this whole thread. Buck is not trying to sell anyone here anything they shouldn't have. Buck has repeatedly stated that the aluminum rig is rated for what it's rated for and no more than that. He's not saying you should buy one and pull a 50 foot cruiser with it.
Personally, I like solid steel. I pull about 12k so I would not consider the aluminum hitch Buck showed us all. But, Buck never said it was rated for 12k, or 11k, 10.5k. It looks like a nice set up for pulling loads within it's rating. I think it's pretty bad that Buck needs to keep fending off remarks about the capacity of that draw bar. If you don't think it will fit your application, then don't friggin' buy. But, don't beat Buck up for showing us a really cool looking product. And, for all you metalurgists with your goofy little stress drawings and metalurgical mumbo-jumbo, go test one. |
Hey 'Bird! Where 'ya been? :D
missing those axa threads too huh? :evilb: |
