Damn, I gotta get off my butt and renew so I can look at the stress diagrams, I feel left out. :-) I agree, poor buck took it pretty hard and was not "selling" anything just providing input. Since I am dork, I am curious about the S-N curves (fatigue) they use to determine the capacity. It throws a red flag to me when the 2, 4 and 6 inch drop hitches have same rating. Physics says BS, it is moment arm deal. I do disagree with the aluminum = bad...steel is heavy=good. Lots of good thing can be engineered out of aluminum, but like CigDaz said, you gotta have confidence they did the homework and the engineering was done. I am not sure the 180ksi and high alloy steels are applicable, are any of these things claiming to be manufactured from those alloys? My boat weighs about 4k though I have less concern then most of you guys.

After reading this thread I feel the need to chime in. I can appreciate everybody's comments about the original question that was asked, but it appears that "Thunderusone" has chosen to single out Buck183 as someone who is trying to benefit or sell something here. As I see it all he has done is answer the original question as stated. Yes he is a business owner and sells these products, but I don't think I have ever seen or heard him using OSO to fatten his pockets. I guess guys like "Thunderusone" who claim to be" president of his own fan club " should mind their own business and stick to the topic at hand and not pass judgement on other people.

Here is Putnams design, I believe it can easily handle it's 10K rating. However, putting a 10-11" drop in a 2" receiver must affect the receivers loading in a negative way

FYI I have never sold on on OSO nor do I care if I do. My business has a location where I live, not on the web.
This entire thread has been nothing but friendly banter IMO. We all know each other and respect each other's opinions without getting offended. Maybe you don't understand how this works? If you can't handle people handing out facts based on everyday experiences and not opinions like yourself then I would say it's time to move on. You are taking it entirely too personal. To get respect on this board you have to earn it. It's posts like yours that won't earn it. Buck You are full of chit and you also have a short memory.....I am going to look back in my pm's to see if I can find the one you sent me. |
It was about a diesel programmer and you were pissed that I was selling them cheaper than you......does that help refresh your memory........write another episel about that.
