K5. Especially if you lift them. They're damn near square- the track is just a couple inches shorter than the wheelbase.

My son has a '96 Tahoe 2 door. He went with me to pick it up in '96- he was 7 then- and always loved the truck. After buying a new daily driver, I put it into storage and gave it to him for his 16th B-day. Had it totally redone. I put the big cutout flares on it with 35's. Stock height. Looks very cool. They're so much wider it's pretty rollover-proof. The IFS up front helps too. had to put 1.5" spacers in the rear to get the tires on it. They're now aligned with the fronts. With stock 265's, I never noticed it being so much narrower in the rear.

So the K5 is out because I cant find one under 150,000 miles and they are gas hogs. So something like this would be perfect. Just needs bigger tires.

Nice truck, but if you can swing a 1996 or later, you will have a better motor. The 350TBI sucks more gas than the 350 Vortec. My 1996 350 2-door Tahoe got 14mpg daily driving. Anything 1995 or earlier will be a shade worse.

I LOVED that truck. Its all personal preference, but I like the ones with Barn Doors better vs. the Tailgate/Lift-Glass option.

If you find the right K-5, remember the top comes off. That can make for some great youthful times as well.
