Can you post a pic of that or send me a pic? i keep going back and forth on doing something with my 96 2 door...it has a 3" body lify that i hate...but it has 285's under it that i like.....and was told would fit even without the body lift so i'm probably gonna take it off later this summer......
Hard to blame him I guess- he's 2 1/2 weeks away from graduating high school. Tires are 35" Nitto Terra Grapplers. Wheels are Wheelpros POS rims. You can see through the chrome on them. Suspension is all stock. Steering stabilizer up front- 3/4" up on the torsion bars. 1/4" spacers up front and (I think) 1.5" in the rear. I tack welded a flat washer on each side steering stops to limit turn-in. The thing will still do a u-turn in a neighborhood intersection with lots of room to spare. slotted rotors w/ EBG green pads. Did braided stainless brake lines front & rear- made a giant difference. The stock brakes on this thing were always a bit on the spongy side. The lines firmed up the feel quite a bit. Rear disks would be nice but I can still stand it on it's nose- spongy pedal and all. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/DSC02574.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/DSC02573.jpg |

'78-'79 Ford Bronco
Best lines in an SUV ever!:D I had a '78 F-150 inline six, 30++ MPG Two on the tree transmision, was three till I broke second and drove it for a year before first gave up. Pulled the stock car with it like that. Only problem was I had to tighten down the carb all the time! |

Nice truck, but if you can swing a 1996 or later, you will have a better motor. The 350TBI sucks more gas than the 350 Vortec. My 1996 350 2-door Tahoe got 14mpg daily driving. Anything 1995 or earlier will be a shade worse.
I LOVED that truck. Its all personal preference, but I like the ones with Barn Doors better vs. the Tailgate/Lift-Glass option. If you find the right K-5, remember the top comes off. That can make for some great youthful times as well. |

Bigger wheels and tires and it would be a ncie truck. |
Watch the transmissions in those things. I had a '95 Yukon that puked the trans at about 40K. The biggest thing it ever towed was a 16' Center console.

I agree taking the tops off those is cool.....
We had a diesel (6.5 L i think) one when I was about 8 I think it was a 85 what a POS then we had a couple with the 350 Then in 91 my dad bought a GTA and didnt have anything to tow the boat with so we got a 83 or so Blazer, it was solid and we took the top off all the time and just put outdoor carpet in it fun trucks |
Thanks again for all the info

Those old K5 blazers are good old trucks. The tbi 350's are slow but have plenty of grunt. Like was said above they are to short for towing much though.
