Keep us posted. You'll love that truck; the 403hp 6.2L is awesome!

I have always changed the oil @1500 miles, then 5k, then every 5k with my diesels. However, I have talked to many people @Ford & GM and it is not nec. until the first 5000k, then every 5000 if towing, 10k if no towing. They say the newer diesels are tighter(smaller tolerances), the oil is so much better it doesn't breakdown and the engines burn so clean that the oil doesn't even get black like in the old days. I still feel that it can't hurt, but I'm told it is just a waste of money and resources.

It's not a diesel. 6.2L gas, 403hp 410lb/ft of torque. Thanks for the info though!

Congrats on the truck! What color did you get? Stock rims or did you get the 20s?

It's all really user friendly; IU assume you got the nav too? My favorite part is how everything is voice activated. I never touch anything when I'm driving. Which 20s did you get? I got the 12 spoke and love them

ooops! Just assumed it was a diesel; what kind of mileage do these new gas engines get when towing 10k? Have they figured out how to make them last longer? I had some bad experiences with gas engines in the 80's & early 90's, so I went to diesel and never looked back. I always did like the way the lighter Chevy trucks rode, very smooth ride.

Haven't towed with it yet because I'm not ordering the new Advantage until the LA boat show in Feb., but my guess is that it will handle great. The torque in this thing is unbelievable, 6-speed tranny (it feels very similar to the allison in my dad's duramax but not sure what it is), and when I crawled underneath everything was much bigger and more rigid than I would have expected. Seeing as how you can only get this power package in the Denali and GM charges a bunch more for this truck, my guess is they went the extra mile to make everything bullet proof. As far as the mileage goes, GM claims it will get 20mpg on the highway; I only have about 300 miles on the clock so far so we're still breaking in, but I have been seeing close to that already. Probably about 18 highway and 15 around town and it keeps improving.

Have always changed oil on all new vehichles at 1000 miles. Just feel it can't hurt 2 get that initial oil out and give the new engine some new life blood! Congratz on your new truck.
