The truck is diesel..not sure I want Stabil in it. Besides, I do drive it every weekend just to keep everything moving... usually it's just to the local home improvement store so it's at least 5-6 miles a weekend!!!

Well, I use a crew-cab dually too... and it's great... but I got a dually because I needed the weight capacity to haul a camper. You would probably be fine with a single-wheel one-ton as long as it's a 4-door. I think the most benefit for towing stability comes from the long wheelbase, as long as the rear tires aren't overloaded.

we pull our 382 with a 2007 Chevy 3500 DRW with the Duramax. Also added an Edge chip which helps even more. Plenty of power and we pull back and forth from Indianapolis, IN to Punta Gorda, FL several times a year......

PS. With full tank of gas in boat and truck, 4 people, lugadge in truck we grossed 25,000 + lbs on the CAT scales. I would not pull with anything less than a dually

PS. With full tank of gas in boat and truck, 4 people, lugadge in truck we grossed 25,000 + lbs on the CAT scales. I would not pull with anything less than a dually

I pull my 382 with a 06 F350 Dually. I would not own anything but a Dually. They are not bad to drive daily, I drive 250 miles each day in my truck. The only places that are tight are parking garages, (because of height clearance, not width,)Sonic Drive In(You can fit, just watch the mirrors), and most drive through bank windows(Whoever designed these needs to be shot).
A 3/4 ton truck will pull it, just won't be very stable at 55+, and if you ever have to make a quick lane change, the rear of the truck may start dancing from side to side, causing a loss of control.
Stopping is a different story. My trailer has 6 disc brakes controlled by a electric over hydraulic conversion from surge brakes. Not all of my brakes are working properly, and the trailer still stops the truck well. Just be prepared, one wire break, one loose connection, or one burned fuse, and no trailer brakes. You will have to stop with only the power of the truck. It will stop, but will take much longer.
I have a Edge Box in my truck which monitors the truck's egt's, trani temp, engine temp, etc. I have to turn it to stock while pulling my boat. EGT's get too high with it on, even on the lowest setting.

We have a 3 axle Myco trailer with 6 disk breaks (electric/ hydraulic) On our first trip from picking the boat up in Destin, Florida and taking it 700 miles to Punta Gorda, FL we were with out brakes the whole way. Wasnt the safest thing but the dually definitly helped. Even with a full load, I usually only dial my electric module to 2.0-2.5ish, otherwise the wheels are locking up even on soft braking

I just bought an 04 Ford F-350 Super Crew 4x4 SRW w/ 6.0 Power Stroke.....to pull my boat. My boat is 150 miles away getting re-powered....Havent hooked the two of them up yet so I'm wondering how a SRW Diesel will pull...Anyone try it yet? I had a 98 Chevy 3500 Dually with a 454, but the gas mileage sucked....I went with the SRW as it is much more pratical to daily drive...any thoughts?

Get 10 to 11 MPG with the boat. I am sure a duel would be even better but I am very satisfied as is and can still get into a Target Store parking spot.
