No experience, but judging from the weight of My Cafe Racer, I don't think I would want to be towing that Mistress on a Dual Axle Trailer with ANY Cadillac....

I don't have the escalade but I do have the mistress. And I would say with fuel, trailer and boat. It ways about 14,000 lbs. I pull it with a dodge dually. I don't even think the escalade has a 9000 lb rating. You would not be able to stop safetly.

I couldn't find a rating on the '08's, but the prior years were in the 7k range. That is far short of 14k...... Especially when you are trying to slow down.

7900lb towing if it's 2 wheel drive.
7800lb for the all-wheel drive.

Don't have spec for tongue weight- but would guess 500-600lbs.

I know a guy who tows his mistress with a 2500HD avalanche 8.1 . I know he is over the limit, he does have heavy duty brakes and air bags, but he knows if he is in an accident that he will be on the chopping block. Safer with a 3500 something.

That truck is actually rated for 12,000 to 12,5000 lbs. towing depending on which year it is. It does an adequate job at such, but obviously overkill is better.

The Cadillac Escalade EXT is the Avalanche derivative, based on a 1500 Avalanche. The Cadillac Escalade ESV is Suburban 1500 based.
