Ever try to pull a boat up a ramp in the middle of a good rain shower????? I have, get the 4wd. If you do get a 2wd truck I'd recommend something that has a limited slip rear differential, like the chevy's. Almost like positrack.

3 weeks ago I went to buy a jet ski, we hooked it up and went to the closest ramp which was salt, backed it in, the second I put the truck in park and set the parking brake it started sliding down the ramp, that was no big deal as I was still in the truck and used the foot brake to stop it after less than a foot.

I never have to use 4x4 on my local fresh water ramps regardless of the angle or the boat I am launching, but learned a valuable lesson that day. My truck will always be in 4x4 on any ramp from now on.

I have a 2007 Nissan Titan 2WD and I tow My 2003 30' Motion. I have used it to tow many boats and I am very impressed with it. I did install rear air bags with an onboard compressors. Knock on wood, I have yet to be stuck at the ramp.

Hope this helps.

Man some of the ramps down here, I've been to and I'm like what f'n moron built the ramp this way, like it was so hard to level the angle a little more, so many ramps down here will bottom out trailers.
