So Stillen sells the AP rotors? Where are you in Mississippi? I grew up in the Delta south of Memphis.

I THINK they use AP rotors and hats, and fab up their own mounting brackets and other stuff. The rotors are somewhat universal, a few manufacturers make a 13" x 1.25" rotor. The hat is the custom part to get the right ofset and bolt patterns.

Brembo kits are popular as well. Same concept with a big azz caliper. I think the Brembos are mostly 4 piston kits and the AP's are 6 piston. That doesn't mean very much though for a street application.

I'm just south of Tupelo. Not much water around here!!

So where do you take your boat? My family used to have a cabin on Enid Lake but all we had was a little 17' o/b fish boat I learned to ski behind.

I have an 04 Z71 with the "stock" 20 rims, I upgraded to the Baer 4 piston brakes, middle of the road price wise and improved the braking and pedal feel. A neighbour out the street has a "blinged out" Escalade with 22's and the Brembo big brake kit (8 piston rear and 6 piston fronts) I think he dropped about 8K on the kit, pedal feels like concrete and it works with all the ABS sensors, when you get on the brakes HARD it feels like your brain is going through the front of your skull!! If I could find a used kit on Ebay (cheap) I would grab it. On a similiar note I believe Wilwood also makes a kit with either Red or Black calipers and its A LOT less than the Brembo kit.

n20michael--
Thanks for the info! I knew the Brembo kit would work well...just not ready to plop down 8k on brakes!

So the pecking order goes something like this:
1. Brembo 8k
2. Wilwood 4k
3. Baer $?
4. Stainless Steel Brakes SSBC-2.7k

Looks like the list is being gathered!

Like I said in my post, keep an eye out on Ebay and Kijiji, seen kits that where new (or nearly new) for 1/2 (or less) of what they sell for new, if you don't have to have them "tommorow" you should be able to find a good deal

GOOD LUCK!
Michael
