Default Tie Downs/ Straps

I know at one time Sydwayz or someone posted a link to a place with good tie down straps. This fall I am going to replace my tie down straps for the boat and would prefer not to have so much extra webbing as the current set up. Currently I am just using some 15k 3" webbing ratchet straps but they are like 15' long and I have to use duct tape so the extra webbing isn't flapping in the wind. Also, does anybody use cable rather than webbing on the their winch strap? I was thinking cable might be more "static".

Thanks..

I have not seen that link above, but it appears to be pretty much all inclusive of everythng we would need. Member "warparty36" has made a lot of straps for members here and his company's straps appear to be of the same caliber.

You can cut off the extra length and use a blowtorch to melt the ends down a bit so they don't fray. Also, any upholsterer should be able to finish sew a new end once shortened.

I can't bring myself to shorten mine either, so I have used zip-ties to make the extra strap a fixed "unit" that slides on my pre-adjusted straps.

Just cut them to the length you want and re melt the frayed ends.

I use the M&R
http://mrproducts.com/

I have them on the car trailer and boat, we use them at work also.I liked the quality of the webbing/strap material better than the ones Ive seen out there.

The S hooks have a low rating.
