The Ford SuperDuty trucks have interchangeable body parts, front ends, bumpers, grilles, lights, and other items like interior parts from 1999 through 2006. I have updated quite a few parts on mine like the FX4 black grille and Harley headlights (with HIDs).

I own an '05 6.0L. Steer clear. Never had any real issues until around 65k miles. Since then, it's been something wrong fairly regularly. Nothing is cheap to fix and now the tranny is shuddering AGAIN. Oh yeah, the fuel mileage is TERRIBLE.
This truck has been stock all it's life, with the exception of CAI and Magnaflow exhaust. It'll be awhile before Ford can sell me another diesel.

I was contemplating buying almost that exact truck. Guy in the Carolina's did a conversion on a 2005 F450 4x4 Lariat with a 6.7 Cummins out of an '08 Ram 3500, removed all the emmisions stuff, swapped in an '03 5.9 turbo and ECU, and put a Ford / ZF 6 speed behind it with a Southbend clutch. Saw that shortly after getting my 7.3 F550 and wish I saw it first. I wanted to give him my '06 F350 6.0 as a partial trade but he didn't want that for obvious reasons. He did want my 550 but I never followed up. Truck had around 120k, engine had 20K, and he wanted $32k firm. Sounded like a pretty good deal to me, he said he over $60k into it with the conversion

You may never see a deal like that again. You can do the same with either one of your trucks if you still have them. The 7.3 is a very reliable motor but it can't match the Cummins and of course the 6.0 is a POS.
