It's like the difference in the base of the umbrella on your patio. If it's 16" wide (diameter), it will be a lot more stable than if it's 12" wide.

Thanks. They're Falken Ziex ST/Z04 tires. BTW, I don't tow with them.

Default Spacers

The 1 1/2 inch spacers mean you can use them without grinding off the 1/4 inch of the factory studs for clearance. I have a 2004 2500 Avalanche and have a stock setup- no spacers. But I do have air bags on the rear axle. I honestly don't fell the back is tippy at all. I take corners just fine. When I get some time I may try a set of spacers.

Plum, I measured the track width and you are correct, F to R is exactly 2.5" difference. Like you, I want to go with the 1.25" spacers. Did you have to grind down your lugs so they would fit?

If that's the case, I may just go with 1.5s to keep from having to trim.

Thx.

Your lugs have a "nubin" on the end of them which does not have threads. It's no big deal to grind them down. I did it in my garage with a right angle grinder, just being sure to get them all ground down to the same visual and tape measure length.

Yes, I cut the ends off with a grinder. If you don't want to do that, you could also get shorter studs installed.
