Does anyone have experience with elecric over hydraulic brakes? I'm thinking of adding a Brakerite electric over hydraulic conversion to my trailer for added security.

I know people may say it wont work.... But i went full electric drum. my truck has tow command. so i wanted to use it. it costs $45 a hub to convert and they dont have a problem. i dont see why water would bother them. it is just an electromagnet and it is all sealed up. i just leave the inspection plugs out of the drums so they drain quickly. i try and remember to unplug before launching but sometimes i forget and they are still all good.

Just do it. Best thing you can do to a trailer.

It's ok in fresh water. No good for salt.

It's one of the real, premier upgrades to your whole package boat/trailer/truck, think about it...

I overkilled mine pretty good but no lack of stopping power!

I have electric over hydraulic drum brakes on my tripple axle trailer. I'm towing over 15000lbs and I can lock up all 6 tires if I have the setting too high. I do have a 4 second delay before they actually kick in. I think I adjusted them incorrrectly.

I have the MaxBrake controller. The truck and trailer stop as one.

Fixxer, I've done that electric brake thing on a couple of trailers. No problems at all, one of them I still have and dunk in salt water often, just normal maintenance. On my tri axle I have electric over hydraulic disc and they work good but the salt water tears things up, doesn't matter what brakes you use.
