Bought my wife an '08 Edge Limited and she loves it. She was big on the Murano too, but I couldn't pass up Ford's 0%. Inside is nice and roomy for the passengers. A bit high on road noise and the brakes are a problem as discussed on numerous forums and consumer reports (i.e. small rotors and short life.) Mpg is about 20 in town. Also - I was under the impression that the Edge 3.5 was a Nissan product?
I'd like to trade it in for a '10 or '11 model. I think they listened to the owners and made some changes to address what I wrote above. All in all.......I would buy one again.

I am a big Ford fan, have owned several of their vehicles and enjoyed every one. My current daily ride is an F150 that does a pretty admirable job of pulling the boat. It is the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Having said that, we were looking for my wife a new car and it came down to the same two choices. One drive in the Murano and my wife was hooked. I can't say I regret the decision as it is a great car. Fast, smooth, quiet, confortable for either of us to drive, a ton of features and now a 120K warranty on the CV transmission. We have had zero problems in 30k miles and 1 1/2 years of ownership. Only time will really tell the true story.
As they say, you pay your dues and you take your chances.

My g/f needs a new car and needs an all wheel drive suv. We just had a baby so we're looking for something safe, reliable, and decent on gas. We have it narrowed down to the Ford Edge or Nissan Murano. I'd love to give the money to the only of the "big three" that didn't need the bailout, but I'm just hearing way too much GOOD about the Nissan. Looking for some advice. Thanks in advance
