Are they kown to have any kind of front end issues?
The bushings in the front end of 1 tons give too easy and sometimes wear out fast. If the alignment and tire presures are kept straight and fully inflated to what the TIRE MFGR prints on the sidewall, instead of what other stupid agendas claim including the sticker on the door jamb, they do much better. |

Dodge had a rash of lower ball joint issues in some earlier trucks and most of it was the chassis lower than 3500.

Fixx
they are great trucks but!!! their is a major problem with the front end...its called the dodge ram death wobble,,its when the front goes into this violent shake and you have to stop the truck in order for it to go away..every newer dodge i have worked on has had it at some point, usually ones in the 60k range..their was a recall on some of the front end parts but this is only a temporary fix.the front track bar usually fixes it but that only lasys for a little while..the real cause is theirs no cross member in front of the gear box and it transfers a vibration which in return causes the gear box to go wacky and start shaking.
If anyone is having this problem with their dodge and all the front end parts are good then here's the fix,i installed it and the problam went away.. http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.asp...6&scid=FROOGLE other issues would be is the front drive axle ujoints, expected with a live axle.. |
mrfix I thought the death wobble was primarily known in 4x4 trucks not 2wd?? I had my 2wd dually for 50,000 miles and it never happened. I had a 2wd 03 before that and never got the death wobble.

Notice it started right after he went over that big raised patch. There oughta be a law against that. :hothead:
(BTW it ain't 'explanes' lol. :lolhit: |
Death wobble isn't only associated with Dodge trucks....I know of Jeeps and Ford trucks that have experienced this as well. It's more common on lifted vehicles w/oversized tires.
06 Ram Cummins is a good truck with a good engine imo. |
