"...06 Ram Cummins is a good truck with a good engine imo."
From my experience, and others on the Cummins forums, it is, but I would say the 5.9L Cummins is a GREAT engine. And now, the truck has FINALLY caught up to the engine. I have seen 2005-2007 5.9s with 700-800hp as daily drivers. No other light/medium duty diesel has ever been fitted with triple turbos as the 5.9 Common Rail for heavy duty towing. The Cummins is the perfect swap for frustrated Ford owners, and until the 2010 Dodge came out, the universal opinion(mine included) was the Ford Lariat 4x4/Cummins was the best truck on the road. |

I am partial to the 98.5-02 24 Valve Cummins though....with a few mods the second-gen Rams are about bullet proof in my experience. I couldn't be happier w/my 98.5 Ram 3500 Cummins with the NV5600 swap. Plus ya gotta love the rattle lol :D |

I had a little rattle too but it wasn't anything like your 2nd gen... |
