Not flat out perfect conditions, but I have seen 72-73 with half a tank and 6 people on the boat in calm water. There's some more left! I also pulled off the silent thunder, and it let's those gils breathe a little better.

Thanks everyone. I have found one that has my interest. It is in the Cleveland area. It is a somewhat low mileage car, '91, clean Carfax. It doesn't look perfect, stock stereo is removed (but owner still has it so it could be put back in), and it doesn't have the original wheels...it has the 5-spoke wheels that they changed to in I believe '93.
What I was hoping for is maybe there was a forum member who knew these cars well that would be willing to take a look at it for me.
-Double Down, would you be willing to PM me your number so I could pick your brain a little bit?
-Artie, I am so glad you guys are enjoying the boat. Have you done a GPS top speed run yet???

The ZR1 really shines at high speeds, high RPM.
The water pump was one of the weak links. If you buy a Z, I'd strongly suggest keeping your eyes out for a New Old Stock pump. probably run you 500 bucks but worth having on hand just in case.
Windshields are also a problem. the factory tinted windshield is not obtainable anymore, last I checked, and they almost always de-laminate if it is tinted.
Another problem that is harder to diagnose for a newbie is not getting full power in full power mode.
