What do you need to know? My father owned one, a 1994, had for about 9 years. I know there is a guy in Chicago that is an expert. You may be looking at our old car, is it black, has a Borla exhaust?

Thanks everyone. I have found one that has my interest. It is in the Cleveland area. It is a somewhat low mileage car, '91, clean Carfax. It doesn't look perfect, stock stereo is removed (but owner still has it so it could be put back in), and it doesn't have the original wheels...it has the 5-spoke wheels that they changed to in I believe '93.

What I was hoping for is maybe there was a forum member who knew these cars well that would be willing to take a look at it for me.

-Double Down, would you be willing to PM me your number so I could pick your brain a little bit?

-Artie, I am so glad you guys are enjoying the boat. Have you done a GPS top speed run yet???

The ZR-1's have a very rare water pump that is a pain in the azz to change! The pre-1993 ZR-1's are only 375 HP and the following years are 405 HP. I think a ZO6 from 2004+ w/405 HP is just as cool of a car.

You are correct, and I don't disagree. Hell, a base LS2 C6 has 400hp..... So did my CTS-V and my TrailBlazer SS. But...

.....something about the nostalgia of the C4 ZR-1s has always drawn me in. Maybe it's the marine connection of the Mercury-designed quad OHC engine.... Or, maybe because at my being 13 years old when the car debuted, the only thing hotter was Heather Locklear on T.J. Hooker.

I was sad to see that car go. But they are extremely expensive to maintain, modify, and service. They can still put up big numbers nat aspirated though.....

They also held numerous 24hr top speed records. They certainly have that "cool" factor.
