2002 ford f250 ball joints

When the ball joints wear out will there be noise coming from the front end when you turn the wheel?

if they are dry they will make a creaking noise..plan on replacing the uppers and lowers and the front Axel u joints all at one time..it you want to make the rattle over bumps go away as well than plan on replacing the sway bar links as well.

P.S. make sure you replace them with the greeceable kind,

Agree! Use the MOOG parts. They have a lifetime warranty with them and are all grease-able.

Stock joints only last about 50K. Agree with all of the above. And once you replace them, make sure you keep them greased 3-4 times a year so thay will last.

Just a work of advise,,if you have someone else do them and if it is a 4x4 and if your truck has the vacuume locking fromt hubs show them the four wheel drive works and test it after you pick it up. some will say they know how to do that type of axle and you have to be careful when taking out the front drive axles or you will tear the seals that houses the vacuume for the 4x4 front hubs..

What we do at our dealer here is install the F-550 ball joints in the smaller trucks. they are greasable and they are tough. also, like fixx said you have to go to someone that has the proper installers so that the vacuum seals get installed properly if you are a 4x4 if not and you have 4x4 pulse lock you will be pissed when you have to get out to lock them in.

I know this is a crappy thing to do here. we all make money how we can.... ball joints in a truck like listed a 2002 4x4 pay 5.3. I can do them in 1.5 max. my best is 36 minutes..... but when you get good at something you can do it fast!

sway bar bushings also , the slightest movement can make quite a rattle or thumping !

Do the 550 joints go right in without modification and are they better than the MOOG? How long will the 550 joints last? I got 121,000 out of my original set.

Are duralast ball joints any good?

Fixxer what are you saying in your last post?
