According to my Ford master diesel mechanic buddy, he hasn't seen any in the shop yet. So, so far so good. Have you been in one yet? They are incredible!

The true test will be those who tow daily at the truck's limit. Jassman might be the one to chime in here as I think he has one and tows pretty heavy.

I think they have a home run like the 7.3 !!!! I'm waiting to order a 2012. I looked at the ram but not anywhere as good as ford or gmc . I've all was a gmc person but I like new f450 king ranch . I guess we will see.

a friend of mine builds tow trucks,he said that some guys are complaining about the emissions additive that the 2011's are using which is 8gallons and he said they are refilling it every 2000 miles @ 12-20 dollars per gallon.

he also said that the engine is 3/4's of the way under the cab and good luck trying to service it,he also said that if the serpentine belt were ever to go its not something you will be able to do with out taking the fan shroud off to access the belt..

he also said that rite now ford is not taking orders for black trucks,,the paint is made in japan and ford is out of it..

he also owns a repo company ans said that his next truck is going to be a dodge,,he said they are better on fuel and have fewer if any problems compared to the ford tow trucks..

over 60k on the 250, and tows 10-11k daily...and almost 18k on the 350 ..not a hic up. The 350 has larger tires so it shifts earlier than stock..so tranny shifts are not as precise..Im working on this with my buddy from Innovative diesel. These new diesels are awesome..and that includes the GMC we have also. I drove the new Dodge..I like it. It also has 800 ft pounds, but 350 hp vs 400 and 397 for the Ford and GMC. Advantage, no urea..but still smokes slightly. All 3 good and .. American.. Jeff

No problems (anymore) with ours.

I do have to say after (2) 7.3L and (1) 6.6L Duramax (GMC) this is hands down THE BEST TRUCK I HAVE EVER OWNED. I love driving it, it's smooth and powerful. The Lariat package is like driving a luxury car.

The truck did come out of the box with a cracked transmission. I was reading spring part numbers to a friend with same F-350 in KC and noticed oil all across the axle and shocks with only 40 miles on it. Didn't think much of it, thought it was over serviced or it was off the transport. Two weeks and 800 miles there was a puddle on the garage floor. Trans housing was cracked and Ford only wanted to replace the housing! This was happening before it was even titled and tagged! Non of the techs (friends of mine) at the dealership have worked on the new 6 speeds never mind been to school on it yet. The parts manager (very good friend) couldn't locate a new transmission. So a VERY long story short and several emails and phone calls to the Ford CEO and VP of Communications Executive Liaison over a two week period they replaced the entire transmission with one that had to pulled off the "line" at 1200 miles.

This was a rare event I am sure... at least I hope! But then again my luck is such that if it is going to happen it will happen to me. The service and parts department where doing all they could but Ford at this point was calling the shots, back in the day they said this would have been a no-brain'r.

The truck is wonderful now.

On a side note, the only real disappointment with the truck is the "so called" engine brake. It is simply smoke and mirrors and that is too bad, but I wouldn't let this keep anyone from getting one.

Jeff,

How many miles before you fill the urea and how much does it cost?

Is the engine brake on the GM a lot better then the ford like the mags said?
