I have the same truck 2006 F350 6.0 4.10 gear, just got back from Tickfaw towing 14K drove 72-75 going down and got 10.1 mpg. Coming back drove 75-80 and got 8.0. It was a 1200 mile round trip for us and the truck averaged 9.0. The best the truck ever done was with a Bulldog controller it got 11 towing once.
Some of the problems you will have is the High Pressure Injection Oil Pump, Fuel injection control module, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, Egr cooler and valve. Almost forgot had to put another egr valve on while at the Tickfaw 200 for the poker run over the weekend.
Your mileage is about right! Good luck.

Thanks for all the replys. The last o6 I had with the same package got only 2 MPG's less while towing, this one gets 4-4.5 less. Thought maybe something was wrong here. Usually while on the highway cruising, I run 70-75 empty and 2250-2350 on the tach. Towing I usually run about 65-70.
I wonder if the 4" exhaust is worth the $1K they get for it? And how much will it improve mileage? Maybe that coupled with the EGR delete might make a significant difference. If it'd pick up 3-4 mpg's I guess it'd be worth the $$$. Oh, and the truck has a dealer full factory extended warranty that covers the complete drivetrain for the next 5 years or 100K miles. Do you thing that these mods will void the warranty??? I don't think the exhaust, but what about the EGR delete ???

If you do the EGR delete, would that fix the problem?

really starting to question my milage reading this thread. recently purchased less truck, 08 F250 SWD with 6.4 and 3.73's. Just ran from Quad Cities to St Louis. 250 miles one way, ran empty and only got 14.3 going and 14.4 back. set cruise at 75 mph.

sounds about normal from the guys I know with those...I was towing a heavy 28' trailer with my 05 2500HD and duramax..we would get 11-12 towing that on the highway....friends with the fords would buy a lottery ticket if they ever hit 10....new ones are better I hear...

I hope one day someone on this board takes you up on that and goes through with it. It will make the 2500 times I have read you post that all worth it....
