Had two Carlisles blow within 24 months of taking delivery of the trailer. Just blew out with a "pop" and gone.

My marathons have always held up.

PLUUUUUUS 3
2007, New rear CARLISLE "D" tires. 100+- miles one blew. Just blew. Boat, trailer, truck flipped, boat /trailer totaled, the rest is history. I have a tought time going after Carlisle, since I have no tire parts. The tire just dissintegrated.

Same here... I had a brand new Goodyear that had tread separation in only a few months that gave us $1500 worth of trailer damage!! Goodyear was wonderful and stood behind the tire but I decided to go with the Maxxis E rated tires after that.

What brand does everyone like? What should I stay away from?

Thanks,

Goodyear Marathons are great tires. As has been said do NOT get Carlisles.

I have had Goodyear Marathons, Carlisles and Maxxis 225/75/r15 tires on a tripple axle trailer with a 12000lb boat on it. Maxxis (Lead Range E) is by far way better than the other two. When I turn, the Maxxis has less fold and I have not had one problem with them since I purchased them 3 years ago. Had 2 blowouts with Marathons in one year. With Carlisles, I had 2 tires with bulges on the sides within one year.

When I bought my boat last year the trailer had 2 Marathons, 2 Maxxis and 2 Hercules. Towing it home from the dealer the two Marathons turned to mush. It I immediately replaced the Marathons and the Hercules with Maxxis load range Es. I just ordered 2 More Maxxis Es and will use the old Maxxis for spares. With three axles, I will be carrying 3 spares for extended trips.

I just put on 6 new Maxxis load range E.
