Best tow rig under 35k.

OK gents, I am looking for a tow rig, dually, diesel, 4x4. I know it will be used. What is the "best" bet in this situation? It will not be a daily driver just a tow rig and the home depot trips. What is everyones opinion?

main goal is to stay in the low 30s, have something to be proud of, and not be in the shop. Thanks in advance.

I'm not up to date with the issues of the newer diesels. For around $15K (KBB average) you can get a 7.3 Ford diesel. Many say it's the best diesel Ford ever made.

You can get a lot of nice used stuff for 35k or less. My buddy just picked up an 08 F250 6.4, 45000 miles for under 35k.

if you want to be stuck on the side of the road with the hood open and over heating buy a ford, if you want injector problems, but a chevy, if you want to make it to your boat launch and back home buy a dodge..:drink:

Dodge CTD, had many and they just keep getting better.

Had 2 Ford stints in 2008 and 2010 but never lasted more than 4 months and took a major loss on trade but was what I had to do.

Everybody is going to have their little opinion. IMO I would go with chevy or Ford, Go pre 2008 that way you wont have a DPF and you will save fuel mileage. Other than that go with the newest truck with the lowest miles that fits your budget.
