Ill be taking the ecoboost from LA to Lake Mead this weekend and back.
Im towing my boat which weighs about 5650 1/2 loaded with gas, and the trailers probably 1500. so "Around 7500" lbs. + me the lady and backseat filled with stuff
I will use my go pro to document the trucks performance and demeanor.
It will be hot- like 110 degrees out and we will climb to around 5000 feet in this heat. It will be interesting to see how high a gear it can hold and hot quiet it will be doing so.
Ill be documenting mileage. Not just overall, but Ill compare the actual fill against the electronic readout.
Should be fun- I love fresh water boating on big lakes.

Most impressive half ton Ive ever driven by far.
Most cruising out of LA was 68-71.
In LA proper 65-70.
Thing feels like a small diesel and is quiet enough for tea service inside at speed.
Truck stayed mostly in 6th and downshifted to 5 infrequently and 4th only on the steepest brutal hills.
Truck ran cool as can be with 105-110 ambient temps.
Mileage was 18% better than my titan on a similar course with identical weight which is to say a major improvement.
Although there are some ergonomic nitpicks I have they're just that - nitpicks.
You will be extremely happy with this vehicle. Uploading to youtube because the site doesn't really take video well.
First comparison between the trip computer and the miels used wasnt fair as there were many miles put on delivering the truck and I wanted to zero it out for the trip. later calcs showed approximately 1-3 10nths difference in computed consumption vs fills- I suspect the systems is quite accurate and liekly closer to the 10nth as fill ups with a rather long boat often force the truck at slight angles resulting in slight differences in what is actually "full".
