I think pretty much all of the dealers and manufacturers are cracking down on modded rigs, for the most part.

As far as pricing, I've just been building/ looking at XLs or basic XLTs, nothing fancy, I would like rubber flooring, and cloth, and not much more. Just a work truck with the heavy suspension packages, but they seem to be close to or over 40K with 4WD. I do not ever see the Ecoboost trucks heavily discounted locally, if they have them in stock. My local Dodge dealers are advertising Cummins rigs for under 40K, as low as 36K if you catch them on the right day. And, FWIW, I have a connection at my local GM dealer that can get me invoice or better, plus rebates and bonus cash, and bring in anything I want, as opposed to the Ford dealers where I don't know anyone and am walking in as a nobody off the street.

you have to wait till summer to fall time. I got my truck at invoive plus rebates thats where I got 8k of. And my 4wd extended cab was not loaded but from basic and cost me 32. Just depends on how you hit it and what dealer. I would just watch the rebates on fords, and go in to a ford shop and say look I want to buy a truck now and can get invoice over at the chevy dealer, give me invoive plus the rebates and ill buy one today.

If you havent you need to google the Ford Atlas, that thing is slick. In concept right now, but I heard it got huge raves and Ford may start on productions sooner then they were thinking. Although I have the feeling that the truck will price in the Raptor range Starting at 45k which kind of puts it out of reach for a lot of us. But my second thought is the raptor is cool but really functionality wise its really just a 45k cool truck or for those that spend their time in the mud, not really built for towing. So I am also kind of thinking they may dumb it down a bit and put the standard power train packages in it to get the towing and get more buyers.

i've owned a LOT of trucks in the last 35-40 years and this just might be the best yet, pretty damm impressed, I came out of a 2010 HD2500 6.0 gas that was pretty sweet, but this thing is an awesome ride..

93 fuel woke it up pretty good, Airaid CAI and Magnaflow muffler is all it needs so far, may do a programmer for grins, but it really doesn't need it

I just can't say enough good about it, I can't decide if it thinks it's a car, or a truck..

Picking up a Taurus SHO tomorrow, was super impressed when I was testing driving it on Saturday.

The 3.5L is quite the little engine.

We just picked up an 13' Fusion with the 2.0t eco, awesome car, fun as hell, she drove a few other competitors and just no comparison... the Fusion looks sharp as hell and drives more like a european sports sedan. The Taurus Sho is just too big imo, drives so fat and bloated like, but I can see how some want a car that large....I wish they'd stick the ecoboost 6 under the Fusions hood and call it the Sho, way lighter and way better chassis... that car would rock and they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough for demand.

Think Ford should just give the comp the FU finger and boost the 5.0, already get's about the same mileage as the 6, but how sweet would that be (and easily modded hehe). The Atlas concept looked great. They did a good job with the new Explorer Sport too.

I always wondered why the 3.5l eco wasnt put in the other options besides the sho. But I am guessing its more from a MPG and CAFE view point, and lets face it the fusion is probably snappy enough with that 2.ol turbo and people looking for monster power arent lookin at fusions and most house wifes that drive them dont care.

I too wondered why the 5.0 chevy 5.3 or hemi hasnt been boosted. I would guess they cant get the MPG out of them and to be frank probably puts out way to much power.

i am saving about $25 a week in fuel over the diesel (06 ram cummins)
i am not counting on the 14 mpg i got towing with the desiel but i only make 2-3 long trips a year. but for a daily driver and occassional tow vehicle, this truck is flat out killer

I figured i saved around 2500 last year alone in fuel. Here is some math lets say both tanks are 25 gallons. Eco averages 16mpg and gas cost 3.65 right now. 08 F250 Diesel got 13mpg and diesel cost 4.25 right now. Thats a savings of over 15 bucks right there times 52 weeks is almost a grand. But thats not factoring in miles and just based on averages your getting another 75-100miles more out of one tank, which factor that in the total gas in a year you buy and that $7oo savings goes a lot farther. Plus the eco gets almost 20 on the hwy which my diesel still did 13 maybe 14 if i was lucky.

Wow soldier, you diesel price is high up there I haven't paid over $4 in a long time.

Does the Eco need premium? That is the problem with my wife's boosted AMG, it does and that cost just as much as diesel.

I am lucky, I have a company car so my truck sits most of the time. The daughter has a Eco in her Escape, pretty nice ride.

For pure mileage I believe ford will be bring in a Eco 3 cyl for the festa,,,,, screw the hybrids!
