I didn't do enough research before pulling the trigger on that cover. I liked the way it looked, installed, and functioned so I ordered one. After the fact I found out about all the problems with leaks. My buddy has the same cover and his doesn't leak a drop. $700 leason learned...

I had one like that by Lund once, and was really nice. never leaked and it came off in a min and installed in a min. Never leaked except maybe a tad by the tailgate once in a great while. But now days I dont mess with even getting one. I never really put anything back there that cant get wet, and even with a tonneau you cant put much under them anyways. And if you go somewhere and need to take it off it takes room in the box. Now I just have a good sized tool box, so between the cab and tool box I cant keep most things dry. |
I just joined the ecboost rank with the max tow package. so far i love the truck everything about it is amazing.
i came out of an 06 cummins diesel, i am anxious for summer to arrive so i can tow! |

has anyone went from a diesel to an ecoboost?

I bought an Undercover SE bed cover and love it so far. It's a solid cover so no worries about it leaking. I also added a Bedrug.

I went from a 2011 Silverado 3500 Dually to this. No regrets. I can go to Sonic, the bank and the car wash again. And the towing capacity is inline with a 3/4 ton. All the power I'd need and 100x more comfortable. The fuel mileage seems to be about the same. They always claim crazy numbers on these trucks but our speed limit in oklahoma is 75.. Which means 90. So the economy is pretty much the same as the diesel was...

The fuel mileage is there, but you have to be conservative...put your foot in it, and it declines sharply.
I drive almost 100 miles daily, and it's close to a 60% hwy/40% city split, and if I take it easy, I can squeeze 19 mpg out of it. It's been consistently between 17.5-19.0... We recently took a trip from Central FL to North GA, and we got about 16.5 going up and 19.2 coming home. That was running 80 +/- on I-75. However, the full trip was around 1600 miles (550 each way with several day trips while there) we avg'd 17 mpg total. For a full size crew cab, 4wd, 3.73 rear and 10k towing capacity, I'm thrilled with the mileage. |
