Dual or Triple?

Ok, here's the deal.

I am moving and need to sell my Dual Axel myco Steal trailer, great shape, surge drum brakes on one axel. What's it worth?

Second question, I am thinking of going with Manning or Load master AL for the new trailer.

Can't decide, dual axel or triple? I do like how you can back up with the dual, triple I assume it would pull better.

Boat is a 32/30 (swim platform or not) Fountain fever, 7200lbs dry. Holds about 130 gallons of gas and 16 water.

Dual would have 16" tires triple would be 15" Load range "E"

Where in FL are ya going? I would prefer the tandem, for turning radius reasons, storage, tolls etc.

Aluminum frame
Two single wheel 6000lb axles
Elec/hyd disc brakes on both axles
Torsion bar suspension
LED lights

Somewhere south of TAMPA BAY (The water bay:evilb:).

I am allowed to be as far south as Sarasorta. Moving down the end of the month, will be living in Crystal river and looking for a place down south on weekends. I have to move from Crystal by mid Oct.

For the ramps and such in that area will I need to be able to turn tight? Sure do in this part of the country.

Cat,

If I go dual exactly,

I pulled a 35 Lightning for 8 yrs on a Myco tandem. No issues. Get 6k axles.

Plus it will make the boat look longer :drink:

Sounds like I may stay with the dual axel, Manning quoted me $500 for a drive guard, worth it?

How much should I sell the current trailer for? I have no idea what to price it at.

triple will track better but will be worse turning and backing up. Also more wheels on the ground means less MPG. My 29 probably only weighs 1000 less than yours and tows fine. And if you got 6k axles your almost 1.5 times that boat and trailer weighs. Not need to overkill just to say you have it. Plus if you have to replace tires thats an extra added cost, and when you have more of something more headaches come with it

I pull my 30' Formula on a tandem axle, and I love it. I have a drive guard on mine, and I really like it... if for no ther reason than it looks cool :drink:

+1 on electric brakes. Once you go electric you will wonder how you ever lived without them!
