No Cell Phone Use for DOT Carriers
#21
The enforcement needs to be on the general public, not the gear-jammers. I see more delays in traffic movement caused by people slowing down to answer the phone, then speeding up while talking on the phone followed by them slowing back down to end the call, send a text, Facebook, or pick the next stupid f*cking hip-hop crap selection to play driving their car that doubles in value with a full tank of gas. That is why I have train horns on my truck.
Holy sh*t. Where's the Tylenol?

A couple months ago I ran team with a friend hauling a cattle pot. I couldnt believe the number of teenage/young women (YES WOMEN) that text and drove/do makeup etc vs the men. They were all over the phucking road. Glad his peterbilt had an actual train horn on it ( I know a guy that knows a guy
) so I could get their attention or help them off the road.

If they can control drivers and make some money doing so, so that I will have a higher chance of getting to my destination w/o the worry of being hit by a distracted driver.....I'm all for it.

Im all for cracking down on cell phone use while driving. However, I think it should be for texting, emailing, facebooking, etc. And it should be for all drivers, not just commercial drivers.
Some guy who drives 3000+ miles a week in a big rig, most been doing it for years and had extensive training, in my opinion, aren't the safety threat to the general public. Its the 22 year old girl, who is infatuated with her iphone, and facebooking while driving. Most of these young females (males too) have a hard enough time driving a small car, let alone monkeying with a phone at the same time.

We have had the cell phone ban on the railroad for a few years, it sucks! Federal railroad admin can fine you up to 20k personally, if you hit a dumbass that runs around the gates and you have been on the phone at all while your train was moving they will sue you for your personal assets, so not only are you out a bunch $$$ the railroad will terminate you so you wont have a job to pay any of it. I feel sorry for the truckers but its serious business, not just by johnny law but by any lawyers that are involved if an incident were to occur. Personally i feel that it is a good thing as far as trains go, when you have 17,000 tons of coal shoving up your butt its better to concentrate on the task at hand, truckers the same on a smaller scale.

( it is legal isn't it ? )
