What tune? I have ran all of them from the stock DPF delete to the 310. They all yielded an average between 15-16 mpg combined city highway.
You must be lucky or my tires are killing it.
My bet is the tires.

Probably not. The tires alone are only 88lbs each. Then there are the wheels....and the extra 60 gallons of fuel and 500lbs of survey equipment & tools.

that could be it lol, pretty much same as yours, all the stock to 310, preferred 275 best overall. Ran slightly larger terra grapplers, love those tires on the HD trucks, best ride and handling and still aggressive for offroad use. 60-65 was even better, but that's too slow for highways down here (actually yesterday was going 80 and was still getting passed on i-95 lol), 70-75 and getting usually 20mpg avg was great imo considering the crap mileage it got stock, city was horrible.

looking forward to seeing what the 6.7's do.... the turbo is what's said to be the limited factor b/c of how small it is. The 6.4's can make a sh!tload of power modded.

On my 11 F250 swb with stock 275 65 R20 Michelons vs my 11 F350 lwb with the same tires and gearing was within .2-.3 mpg difference.. When I added 325 60 R20's on the F350...the mileage dropped 1.5 mpg.

Drove a 6.7L PSD for the first time today. Its the only Ford diesel that i can compare to my slightly modded 7.3L PSD when it comes to power and delivery.

If you have year heat set on a 6.7L, they appear to be the real deal. Perhaps pick up a 7.3L for a year or so until some 6.7Ls show up in the used market.

08 F450 w 4.88's. Best I have seen is 10MPG...that may have something to do with it weighing 12k....LOL.

I can get 6.5-7MPG grossing 28k running 65-70mph. Not too bad all things considered. Truck pulls hills like nothing is back there.
