Thanks, I have done that. I am still considering, the very nice 41,000 mile crew cab long bed that I found, but my driveway is very tight to get around in.

Get the crew cab long bed. The wheel base makes towing much smoother. It will be worth the adjustment in maneuvering around the driveway and the occasional issues with parking.

The turning radius of ALL of those vintage trucks sucks. The shorter wheelbase is not going to help much. My suggestion would be to pick the one you like, and have it switched over to a 2005-2007 front suspension dumping the leaf springs for the coil springs. You will get a much better turning radius, and ride quality. If I ever have to redo the front suspension on my 2000, I will be doing just that, or perhaps Kelderman air ride. Just commit to backing in the driveway each time.

Not to de-rail your thread, but is the 05-07 suspension swap basically a bolt in deal? sounds intriguing...

I talked with a buddy about doing it a couple years back when he ran a custom shop, and he said "no problem; easy job." But then again, they built lifted show trucks as well. 2005 also brought a bolt pattern change from 8x170 to 8x200; so I know it's not as simple as pulling parts off of a junker, unless you do the rear axle as well.

Well I bought my self a truck. A one owner, 03' super cab, long bed, dually, Lariat, Fx4, with 19,000 original miles, all documention, it looks showroom new. Never has had a gooseneck or 5th. wheel in it. The guy used it only as a show truck, never worked it, or towed with it. I had to go to Florida to get it, but you do what you have to.
