I remember in the late eighties and early nineties there was a company (sorry forgot the name) that did van conversions to tow fifth wheel trailers.
They took a stock dually 350 van and put a sleeper on the back and had a nice surround for the wheels and rear area. Some of it was made of fiberglass and moulded into the body.
They looked very cool and the old boys were buying them up by the score.

Haven't seen a dually van conversion for a couple of years but I think I know a guy who has one still. i will drive by his house and take a picture and post it. They actually look pretty cool, considering it used to be a cargo van. The kits had running boards and the fifth was all covered in like I said witht eh fibreglass surround. There were usually tool boxes on each side too which came in handy.

They were common here in Canada (I think they were built in Windsor?) and they used to be lots around but now they are rare.

The old 7.3's were a good hauler beit in a dually truck or van, they pulled strong.

Do the Mini buses actually have a frame under them?? I have seen alot of van to box truck conversions where the van box is just chopped off and there is whats left of a uni-body under neath, no real frame just corrugated floor board with a sheet metal frame spot welded to it, Smitty

my box truck has a massive frame under the back of it .
Much bigger than a normal E350..
Technically its listed as a cab+chassis not a van.
I have it registered as an RV..
