Big Three Comparison

Ive had my hotshot and car hauling business's since right after the storm....it's just taken off over the last 3.5 years. I have two different trucks and great working relation with my partners. I haul boats for certain clients through out the year. The building business really has been great, busy enough to keep everyone working...My great customers that we have built houses for years back realized in this economy they could not sell to upgrade, and had us revamp their existing home..or do courtyards and outdoor kitchens..pools, maintenace.. we do what ever to keep them happy ..so we have adapted in that direction...and I praise the Lord everyday.

09 Ford F350 dually, 6.4 with custom tunes from KEM performance, truck gets 22-23 empty and 16-17 pulling about 14-15K. this is my second one and couldnt be happier with it! i have a buddy with a GM and he hates it and one with a dodge and he loves it, haha. personally i think its personal preference, just like anything else, cars, boats, guns, ect.

Have you ever done the math by hand. Buddy has a 09f450 with spartan and his says the same thing, but actual is a lot less than what that device tells him. From what I heard this is quite common for these devices to say a lot more. Think empty his says 20-22 and really is more like 15-16
Both my Dodge diesels had real-time mpg gauges and they showed between 3-4 mpg more than hand calculated.

yeah is spartan was showing 20+ with no load and 16-17 with a 9500lb boat, we were shocked. Well he went back and hand jammed it and he gets about 16ish now and were guessing around 12-13 towing that boat. But from what I heard a lot of these tuners are full of it as far as their MPG. Either way his F450 got like 8-10mpg all the time dont matter what before Spartan. Thing runs like a raped ape now. Im a beleiver in the system beyond his turbos sound like a freight train and he cant keep boots on them. Damn truck also has a high pitched whine at idle now, that is the things people with tuners dont tell you. Im sure tuners are great specially on older models, problem is newer models are far more complicated to just hack off the DPF and tell the computer to no do a regen.

Went to the Vintage Races with a friend this week who owns a Ford F250 6.0. He pulls about 10,000 #s combined enclosed trailer and TransAm race car. He is tired of the expense of owning a diesel and is planning on trading it in on an F150 eco-boost with an 11,300# tow rating.
I would have liked to see the load lowered to 11,300# and seen how the eco-boost compared to the big three with diesel power. (FYI currently have both Ford & Chev in my garage. Have owned Mopar in the past.)
