My first tow vehicle was also my first car, 72 Olds 442 with the 455, towed the 24 Pirahna I bought from my dad perfectly..

Yup my dad used a 71 Cutlass with the 350 to tow the 24 Pirahna before he sold it to me and then an 74 Olds 88 with the 455 to tow the 28 Bertram , drove 200 mile round trip to the keys at least once a month. This was in the mid to late 80s..
Today they would tell him you need an F550 to do the same..
He would probably slap them silly..
LOL...

at the ramp one time w/the top down and my bikini clad hotty beside me when a guy walks by checking the rig out and of course the babe in the car and says, "man, you've got all the toys". :thankyouthankyou:

Tim, why doesn't this one count? Does it need to be a $70K custom F450 to count?
Thought the title of the thread said distinct and unusual.

I've had large fun making tow vehicles out of vehicles that you'd never expect so see.
It's one thing to write a check, it's another to think outside the box.
Used to have a buddy that pulled his race bikes behind an old Satelite wagon that he tricked out. Always wanted that car.
When I was selling boats back in the '80's one of the hurdles to clear for 1st time buyers was the tow vehicle. Not everyone wanted nor had the money for, a 3rd vehicle.
I had a bulletin board that I kept all the local classifieds on w/the cheap tow pigg's listed. Almost all were early '70's big block cars and most were $1500. or less. the 455 Gutless's were very popular. Sedans and wagons.

I think it would be a little over length with a boat!! I actually saw one on Ebay a month or so ago that was a F650 married to an excursion that was a 10 passenger with 6 doors.
