I feel the missing market right now is the medium duty truck line. GM when they shut down Flint in another way is crippling small business. Currently there is only 1 real medium duty line, that is Ford and you have to be a Ford guy to want one. There are a few foreign makers that are attempting to add a medium duty, ie: Hino, Peterbuilt and Kenworth, but the latter are semis with lighter suspension, not a lighter price tag.
Many of us that use trucks for a living are at the point where they are needing to be relaced (the life cycle of most commercial truck is 3-5 years) and it has been since the 2009 model year that GM has ended it's run. (There were a few 2010's made but it ended early)
Lets only hope, someone at GM that is running things now will see the opportunity and un-moth ball Flint!
Unless anyone wants to join me and start up a company to build them, All we need is a BUNCH of money, I can find the place/people and parts...

Must be a Union Sack here or own one of those Clunkers .
Introducing the Chevy Volt Bar-b-que. A steal for only 41k ,
the volt does not explode. it simply catches on fire. a good nose and a long cord to charge it at the other end of the drive way to be safe and will keep your house from burning down with that POS .
Besides paying thousands for this minor change in hydrocarbon consumption, there is no carbon advantage, net; to the atmosphere.

LOL. where is the proof?
BTW I am a UAW hater, a few on this thread know this. I drive a Toyota Tundra and a Mercedes Benz
GM sold me junk for years, so don't think I a defending them. Bottom line is we WILL run out of oil. I think it is great that GM is TRYING and overall the concept of this car is the BEST one out there.
If your commute is 30 miles, you can plug a volt in or any electric car
If you want to go on long trips you need a hybrid or a volt, electric car is out.
I appaud them for the IDEA, not saying it is perfect, but what car is?
I am concerened of oil use because we will have nothing to run our boats on when its gone, and I hate blow boats!

If we can convert common folk cars to electric, we get 30 more years of boating! Demand goes down on fuel, prices go down......win win

According to multiple GM executives there is little or no profit being made on each Volt built at a present cost of around $40,000. Furthermore, the $700 million (tax payer money ) of development that went into the car has to be recouped. do not forget, the $50 billion bailout of General Motors (GM).
The report by the NY Times that it would take up to 27 years for Chevy Volt buyers to save enough money in gas costs to make up for the high price of the car must be very confusing for apologists of the vehicle ALSO I don't see where they factored in battery replacement...average life is...10 years? (or something like that). The last figure I heard for replacement of a Volt battery was $19,000, plus labor .

Personally I wish Ford would import versions of their FPV line from Austrailia, they have some brutal kick ass sedans that make the Taurus Sho look like an epic fail. Or f' it, they need to stick the Ecoboost 6 into the Fusion with a manual trans, that would sell like hot cakes and would have been a real "Sho" not the bloated whale the Taurus is now.

Holden builds a very nice product.
