I'm gonna try a square u-bolt and see if that cures it.. similar to what I posted awhile ago.. Im sure the hardware store will have something that would work.
I think he meant run a bead around the hitch and grind to fit inside, not actually welding it together.

Also, add touch weight, that helps it moving around while towing.

Correct. Just a couple small beads, then grind down to make the hitch fit in the receiver fit with less slop. Won't take very much.

Assuming the hitch pin or holes are not worn.

try another hitch pin sometimes find one thats tight. or maybe some sort of rubber sleve or sock can be found. I tend beleive you have light tongue weight and load which is creating all of this.

Yes, it an inherently light tongue load as it is. A 24 Skater weighs almost nothing and with the 300's hangin off the back and no fuel in it, its kind of a bouncy load.

I see what you're saying about running a weld inside the hitch to take up space. I think that is what I'll try, that way I don't have to disassemble anything when I'm switching between hitches. Great idea!

This is what I did on my last truck, drill two holes and tap with approprate threads, rattle gone! This would be much easier than welding and grinding as you need a bit of clearance for the different tolerances of the drawbars.

Most of those only cure a left/right rattle.. Mine is up/down. And the products they make for that won't fit due to the bumper clearance on a range rover. For some stupid reason, the receiver is tucked WAY underneath the vehicle.
