run a couple beads parrallel with th hitch on the hitch grind to fit then grease the hitch up rattle be gone

I had the same problem and almost did the weld a bead and file down job. Thankfully, I found a better and much easier answer...

Pull the hitch out of the receiver. Run two wraps of electrical tape around the hitch (one wrap on both sides of the pin as far to the ends of the reciever as possible). It will take about 10 minutes to do it even with checking the fitment and it can be undone easily. It works like a charm!

mine rattles

I put one of these on....rattles GONE!

I've been using this one for about 5 years. No rattles or clanking, even with surge brakes.

I had the same thing as what Griff and pullmytrigger , used except the hitch on my truck is a 2 1/2" class V When I use my camper trailer the weight distribution hitch is 2" so I have to use a adapter sleeve. With the sleeve the play is horrendous and the trailer bounces all over the place because the weight distribution bars are putting leverage on the hitch to pull it up. I had one of those anti rattle hitch tighteners but when I would tighten up the U bolt, it would bend and eventually broke. I had two of the big bars and ended up using two 5/8 bolts to tie the big bars together.

Ayuh,..... If I can hear the hitch rattle,.......

I turn the radio up louder,...... :cool:
