Towed a 93 42' Fountain Lightning from Lake Ozark to St. Louis with a 96 f-250, 460 motor. Didn't skip a beat, I don't recommend a long haul but one tough truck! One thing is getting it stopped. Get a good trailer!

My F350 7.3 4x4 with 290,000 miles tows great but it is burnt orange and black in color. So it doesn't match the boat. Hey I'm Vane sue me. This guy has a PERFECT 96 250 with 80,000 miles. But searching and searching I came across a 2008 that is just as perfect maybe better. It hasn't been screwed with by some wanna be performance dude either. So I think I may go with it.

I'd take a 96 7.3 over an 08 6.4 anyday. 7.3 is way more reliable and cheaper, easier to repair.

its cheaper and more reliable, but that 6.4 moves with a few mods... a 4x4 take off from a light can get ya lightheaded...lol few small mods they run 12's

I'm well aware, a few more mods and they need headgaskets!
I've done a few and been around the diesel block, been in diesel power mag, built a few 700+ hp diesels, my ride of choice is my 99 7.3

nope def gotta look elsewhere if you want to compete with anyone for power or speed! But after writing bills for customers, $3,500 for injectors, $4,000 for hedgaskets, etc theres something to be said for a truck that with 200k on it you jump in drive to miami hook onto a boat and haul it home and only put fuel in the truck!
