Biggus,

What kinds of age is the 97 showing? Those 7.3 engines will get 400000 miles if taken care of maybe more. The reliability on the 6.0 forget it.
The 6.4 was much better but fuel mileage is a problem unless you chip it.
The new 6.7 is as close to as reliable as the 7.3 you will find but the purchase cost on those trucks is way too high. I would consider an F250 to lower your cost unless you need an F350.

My '97 is a gas motor 7.5L -460 I think I'm going to run the old truck a little while longer and see how it goes. I don't do too much towing these days and I really want a GT3 badly. If the old truck causes too much grief, I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. -Good to hear the 6.7 is worthy!

If you towed that boat 1 time w/ the new truck, you wouldn't take it back to the dealer. From gas to a newer diesel is like a whole new world!! Just no comparison.....

Thanks for all the replies. I was very tempted but in recent years, I just don't do much towing. The boat is on the lift for the Summer. -Bought the Porsche!

The only difference between the f250 and f350 srw the f350 have two extra spring on the rear axle. go for the f250 and buy after market booster spring.

FWIW, a friend of mine just got a 2013 CC LB Lariat with every option except rear DVD, and he paid 54.

Looking back on a fantastic year. Frankly, was doubtful about '13..always a bit superstitious but it sure turned out great. Made a major career change, working from home doing something I really love. Very thankful this Christmas morning. Bought the Porsche and a new F350 ! -Hope 2014 is just as good to all of us! Merry Christmas!

Thanks Harvey. Still somewhat involved with Konrad but as needed, contractor basis. I'm making my living restoring and selling vintage motorcycles out of my shop at home. Something I've done for many years as a hobby, now full time. Zero stress and Loving it!

Merry Christmas to you and your family! Kurt
