Looking at getting a used dually from 2010 to 2013

Looking for any input on Dodge,Ford, Chevy deisel duallys , what to look out for in those years ?
Currently have a 2010 Chevy 2500 duramax, no issues just looking for something with more capacity to tow the gun with, not going to be a daily driver so I really don't care about the size

Loved our 2010 Ram and love our 13 Ram even more! First year for Rams to have DEF fluid and I think they did a good thing by waiting to the last min to add it. Works good and fuel economy is up from the 10 that used regen for emissions. (I did delete my emission which made for the best mileage but govt sorta outlawed deletes now)

Overall the new Rams are amazing trucks inside and out. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoy your search!

I love my f350 with the 6.4 in it.

Just got my Dpf deleted this weekend and the truck is amazing.....

I just bought 3500 Ram dually, and love it. I had Chevy 2500 Duramax and that was a great truck, but the Dodge to me has best looking .

I've heard of some engine issues on some of the Fords? Not sure of what year or engine size?

Most people take any chance they can to berate the post 7.3 engines in the Fords. The 6.0's, the 6.4's and the 6.7's.

If you delete the emissions stuff off of these engines you have a reliable package. If you buy one of the 6.4's just plan to take 1500 bucks and remove the DPF and EGR. If you just take a little time to understand them you will find out they can be quite reliable. The Ford Trans is considered pretty bullet proof.

I'm a fan of duramax. Have a couple friends who use them as fleet trucks. No issues. We are talking 30-50000 miles a year. Plus duramax is backed by the Allison. My next purchase will be a dually duramax.

Cummins is the most reliable, cheapest to maintain, followed by the duramax and then the powerstroke. Things are turning back around and reliability of all 3 are going back up. 6.4's are pretty good. I've seen a few rocker arm and lifter failures, a few injectors etc. duramax injectors are ridiculously priced. But other than that not many issues.
