I think the diesel vs gas is really moot. They each have their +/- and will basically do the job. I bought the Duramax to try one out. So far its great.

Only recently has diesel fuel gotten now as low as gas (or close).

I went Duramax too, and I love it. I used my wife's grocery points yesterday to get a .70 discount. Check that out. Hell yeah!

Don't mean to hack the thread, I just see a lot of GM guys in here. I have a '15 Denali 2500 and I'm shopping around for rock guards to put on the back to protect the boat during towing. Problem is, I think the angle of the exhaust on our trucks will put it blowing and burning right at the rubber guards. Anybody have or seen this issue? Any suggestions?

I've ran the rock tamers with stock exhaust. Did not melt the flaps.

Just do custom exhaust out the side.

Definitely not as large as the rock guards you guys run but the new Weathertech "no drill" mudflaps have been very helpful for me so far.

Thanks Slowride-388 and Plum_Crazy. The transporter who delivered my boat was running a set from camping world, and said they were good for the price. $99, I just hit the buy button. I figured I'd give em a shot if Slow-ride388 isn't having any issues. At least I won't be out the $450 from the other ones i was looking at. I think I may even flat washer and screw some heat wrap on the back side of the passenger flap if I see it starting to warp.

I believe there is a huge resale of diesl trucks , compared to gassers . I look at big truck sites ,used and all I see is lifted diesls selling like hot cakes . I believe they will sell far faster than the same gasser ..
