If you are going to spend 50k, get a Diesel and be done with it...

If you ever tow across any type grades, you will be glad you have a diesel...

Trucks are just like guns, it's MUCH better to have it and not need it than need and not have it.......

By the way, they took about $12K off my 2015 Platinum F250, so sales prices was low $50's. I think if you're looking at $50K for a 1/2 ton a diesel should be within reach.

I got this 12 out the door and with the cost of the loan for 51k. The truck was a little over a year old with 15k miles . It is a loaded lariat fx4 ultimate with every option.

6.2 truck engine is not the Corvette engine - set up to make its torque and hp at the low end, 40 hp less.

My 2002 5.3 avalanche wouldn't tow a greasy string out of a dead cats ass.

LMAO. My 04 1500 was the same way. It would downshift pulling two snowmobiles on a 10 degree incline! It had the 3.42 gears and my next truck had the 4.10s. Huge difference, and the extra 70 hp or so didn't hurt either.

The Max Trailer Pkg (NHT) with the 3.42 gear & 6.2 does a great job up to 10,000 lbs.
The 3.23 gear is not near as good, but would get you by.
The 5.3 is not going to do the job with or without (NHT). The 6.2 is a great motor with 420 hp & 460 lbs torque & is night & day better motor!
The 2015 6.2 also is capable of 20 mpg plus hwy when not trailering.
